This is reminiscent of the cat on the hat post I made earlier this year. Someone must have a lot of spare straw hats laying around. If you've made a cat hat and you still have extra, make a turkey hat! True, you can only keep this decoration up for less than a month, but I guarantee that people will notice it. And, incidentally, does this turkey have an afro wig or is it just me?

There is NO way I would be seen in that..
That looks like something they make at an old lady luncheon.
Nothing says serious craft project like "google eyes"!
the "afro wig" strikes me as more of a Napoleon Wig... (Bonaparte, not Dynamite)
Sweet. A politically correct turkey to hang on the door in honor of Obama!
*Running out the door to purchase my straw hat right now*
Very reminiscent of the early 1990's. You could probably use this in a variety of ways.
1. Put it on your head and wear it to the family Thanksgiving celebration--ugh!
2. Hang it on the front door as a "sign of the season"--probably not quite as bad as on the head.
3. Add some kind of candles to each side and use it as a "lovely Thanksgiving Centerpiece." It's low enough that the diners can see over it to have proper conversations during dinner. And, you could make some sort of turkeyesque napkin rings, maybe out of teeny tiny straw hats--a whole fleet of turkey babies--double ugh!
It's as if there's big money out there for finding the most hideous thing to turn into a turkey! Seriously, I stand by my theory of bored people with leftover craft scraps!
